Beneath the motive of hatred lies fear. A little cited passage from the New Testament goes like this:
The spirit of God is not the spirit of fear, but that of love, and of power, and of sound mind.
It is with the power of a sound mind that we must rationally investigate truth and reality, not with the blinded eye of fear and hatred. Baha'u'llah warns us in the Tablet of the True Seeker that we must put aside all traces of both love and hatred when we take the path of the true seeker.
Anyone interested in the facts found in the authentic writings can discover who legitimately holds the position of "the sign of God on earth," an attribution of the living Guardian, and the one who is solely responsible for interpreting the Holy Writings and maintaining the true spirit of the Faith. Important source material for anyone investigating the vital question of who holds true authority in the Baha'i Faith should include: The Will and Testament of Abdu'l Baha, the Dispensation of Shoghi Effendi (which he, himself, referred to as his spiritual will,) and the numerous works found on the Orthodox Baha'i website and related links.
The Buddha said not to believe a thing just because it is believed by many others, nor because a powerful person said it. And Baha'u'llah said: do not know a thing through the mind of your neighbor, but know with your own mind.
